This test shows a left sided pronator drift. The patient's eyes were closed for 50 seconds. This is a sign of an upper motor neuron lesion of the contralateral corticospinal tract. In the presence of an UMNL, the supinator muscles in the upper limb are weaker than the pronator muscles. Closing the eyes accentuates the phenomenon as the visual stimulus is deprived and the person solely has to rely on proprioception.
