Whipple's Procedure

A whipple's Procedure being performed on a patient with Cholioangiosarcoma. In this procedure, with the gall bladder, the head of the pancreas, duodenum and somtimes even part of the stomach is removed. Its one of the major operations and takes about 6-8 hrs. Maybe more. Can you tell me why part of all these organs has to be removed?
