Digital nerve block is a minor and easy to perform procedure that in done in cases of: • Different injuries (like fractures, lacerations, etc) • For different procedures (e.g. infection drainage and wound repair). The procedure involves injecting a regional anesthesia to anesthetize the area locally and specified nerves are blocked using this technique. EQUIPMENTS FOR PERFORMING DIGITAL NERVE BLOCK Following equipments are required for performing the digital nerve blocks: 1. Personal protective equipment: Gloves, drapes, and gauze pads 2. Anesthetic agent: Choosen on the basis of time and allergic reactions 3. Needle for injection (27-30 gauge) 4. Needle for drawing medication (18-22 gauage) 5. Sterilizing agent like alcohol swab or chlorhexidine 6. Lipid emulsion solution
