Biot's breathing is an abnormal breathing pattern characterized by deep inspiration followed by irregular breathing. The cause of Biot's breathing is damage to pons. The pons may be damaged as a result of stroke or herniation. Opioid toxicity can also implicate in Biot's breathing.
