Red man syndrome (RMS) is an anaphylactoid reaction due to the rapid infusion of the glycopeptide antibiotic vancomycin. RMS is characterised by pruritic, erythematous rash of the face, neck, and upper torso, which may also involve the extremities to a lesser degree. Blue man syndrome is a condition that presents with ceruloderma—a bluish, cyanotic-like skin hyperpigmentation caused by long-term administration of the antiarrhythmic medication amiodarone.
