Firecrackers are used to celebrate Christmas, New Year and other big processions. In US, annually death and injuries related to firecracker and fireworks are 3 and 10,527 respectively. Most pre-school age victims are injured by fireworks ignited by someone else, while older children who are injuried are usually lighting themselves. Children under age five are commonly hurt by rocket type fireworks; small firecrackers and ground spinners injury majority in children between the ages 5-14. The are 3 grade of injury. 1. Mild ( burn injury or partial injury of thenar muscle) 2. Moderate (Dislocation, fracture of metacarpar or phalangs bones or total disruption of thenar muscles )3. Severe (Amputation through phalangs, phalangs joint or gross soft tiasue loss in hands.)On mild case, management is conservative debridement and secondary intention. On moderate are thenar muscle repair and debridement in acute setting, K wire fixation. On severe cases serial debridement with flap coverage and fixation of fractures can be as management or even with complete amputation.
