The salivary glands are exocrine glands in and around the oral cavity that secrete their salivary contents into the mouth. They keep the oral mucosa protected and lubricated, and help in the initial stages of digestion during mastication of food. There are three major salivary glands: the parotid gland, the mandibular gland, and the sublingual gland. This video covers the most important aspects about these glands, their functions, location, and arterial supply as well as venous drainage.
