Due to the relatively low prevalence of posterior stroke as compared to anterior stroke, the signs and symptoms can be difficult to identify. The first and foremost step in the diagnosis if a posterior stroke is an increased index of suspicion. The signs and symptoms of posterior stroke can be identified keeping in mind the 5 Ds: 1.
