Neurocysticercosis is a parasitic disease that is caused by the ingestion of Taenia solium eggs. This species of tapeworm are found in pork meat and poor sanitary conditions can spread them. Symptoms include stroke, epilepsy, neuropsychiatric issues, headaches, cognitive problems, etc. MRI can be an imaging or choice and antiparasitics such as praziquantel and albendazole can be given.
