Acute Cholecystitis

Acute cholecystitis refers to inflammation of the gallbladder. This sudden inflammation arises due to obstruction of cystic duct by a gallstone. Symptoms of acute cholecystitis include: - Right upper quadrant pain - Tenderness - Fever - Chills - Nausea - Vomiting The condition is diagnosed through ultrasound. Treatment is done via antibiotics followed by cholecystectomy. Not all Cholecystitis come from Obstructive cystic duct.
