Patella Fracture Repair- Animated

The patella is a sesmoid bone in the quadriceps tendon. It is important to allow proper extension at the knee joint. The given video shows a great illustration of how a fractured patella is repaired. Note that patellar fracture occurs following trauma and can be of various types. In very severe cases, the entire patella may need to be removed, thus, compromising the extensor apparatus of the knee.
