What are the causes of Partial and Generalized Seizures?
There are several factors which contribute in the occurrence of partial and generalized seizures. Some of the most common causes of seizures are: - Car accident or traumatic injury to the head - Stroke - Brain tumor - Meningitis - Viral encephalitis - AIDs - Poor nutrition and hypoxemia during intrauterine life - Autism - Neurofibromatosis - Electrolyte imbalance - Flashy lights and loud repetitive sounds as in movies, video games, concerts - Anti-psychotic drugs - Withdrawal from alcohol, narcotics, anti-psychotics - Very low blood glucose - High fever In some patients, more than one cause is found. Few factors together increase the risk of partial or generalized seizures.
