I found this somewhere over the internet and I find it quite helpful for clinical purposes. For those who don't know: Pitting edema is a common clinical sign of different conditions. Common conditions are cardiovascular disorders, kidney disorders, hepatic dysfunction, obesity, pregnancy, administration of intravenous fluids, hot weather, and medications. Since it is quite commonly observed in clinical practice therefore it is important to understand and learn the pitting edema scale. With the help of this scale, you can easily grade edema in a patient.
