How is B 12 deficiency differentiated from Folate deficiency when they both are megaloblastic anaemia?

The clinical signs might help but the confirmation comes only with the dosage of vitamins.

Mentioned test on the previous comments were really recommended test to differentiate both. Just an addition, possibly, we can take a look on the history. Both folate and B12 deficiencies definitely have underlying causes. For example, if Megaloblastic anemia is suspected and patient has parasitic infection then this may indicate B12 deficiency. This is just an alternative way to differentiate both but not really considered as a diagnostic tool.

Clinically they can be differentiated by their presentation. Vitamin B12 deficiency have neurological symptoms like tingling sensation in arms and feets, while folic acid deficiency doesn't. Vitamin B12 assay can be done for confirmation of the same.
