ALIEN HAND SYNDROME

Alien hand syndrome is a disorder that causes one hand to act on its own free will. In this type of disorder the hand isn’t under the control of the mind and moves as though it has its own mind. The affected hand of the patient feels foreign to its owner during these episodes and rapid unplanned movements occur that are out of the patients control. It can affect children sometimes but usually alien hand occurs in adults. This condition is also known as Dr. Strangelove syndrome, Strangelovian hand, or anarchic hand.
