Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a nerve entrapment syndrome characterised by the compression of median nerve. This condition commonly presents with pain, tingling and numbness in the distribution of median nerve. Common causes are hypothyroidism, obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and idiopathic conditions. Treatment includes splints and surgical decompression.
