I hope these helped. Let me know if you have any more concerns. Medschool is not an easy journey: the climb is hard but the view at the top is beyond beauty✨

Pharmacology This course is all about repetition. Reading once will not be of help to you because the drugs are a lot and don’t always follow a pattern especially with their side effects. Most of the the drugs have the same mechanism of action and the same suffix so you can use them to remember what class it is. Keep going over and over it. That is 🔑

Microbiology For micro, making short notes about each organism helped a lot. Notes on the peculiar characteristics, disease it causes and treatment. It’s is better to get the very salient features of the organism than trying to remember everything.

Pathology This course is an interesting🤦🏽‍♂️ one especially the molecular part. But most of my efforts was in trying to understand the mechanism or how each disease or condition come about. There are however portions that need memorization or repetition.

See, first understand disease superficially then remember only drugs which are used in this disease. You can do it by writing only drug names..so you better remember. Then read any proto type drugs of disease from different groups. And afterthat learn seperate drugs. I am also 2nd yr student and I am learning phrmeco like this. And also rewise in time.

For microbiology, I tabulated the microorganisms based on their classifications, pathogenicity, disease they caused, lab tests and results and treatment. This helped a lot esp when we had our comprehensive test. I hope it may help you too :)
