Hi guys, so I'm a 1st year medical student, and I need your advices about something. The first year program is very busy, so I found myself only revising to pass the year and not to become a good doctor, for example I'm keeping anatomy apart because its revision takes a lot of time and no matter how good we study it we'll get bad grades, so I'm leaving it for the end...and this way I know I'm becoming a horrible doctor, and I don't know what to do 😐 Also we have some non-medical subjects like chemistry in which I'm really really bad, no matter how much I try I won't understand them...will I need them in my future? is it bad that I find them hard ? will this make me a non-competant doctor? Thanks for reading.
All those subjects have a role in medicine. But no one is perfect that means no one can learn them all. Do what you have to do to pass exams, but pay more attention to clinical subjects. They are the ones help to be a good doctor. Same has to be said about anatomy too.. you will get a better understanding in anatomy with clinical practice. don't stress yourself, we all have the same problem as students
Absolutely. Learn other subjects like anatomy as much as you can but don't worry about the parts you miss, you will get many chances in the future to learn them. And don't worry you will be a good doctor
Noooo Nooo need to study those Subjects Its not Unfathomable. Just focus on your medical subjects. Even in our medical university we are having also that non medical subjects ,i-e Chemistry , mathematics etc but we are not pondering over it , Study medicines thats enough for you Dont make it hard for yourself Chill with it And you will Learn Easily. All the Best
Just remember that "you're not just studying to pass the test; you're studying for the day you're the only thing between someone and their grave".
Well you can repeat them during summer for example when you have more time by watching videos to simplify them and take your time .. I'm a first year med student as well 😊
