Xanthelasma due toh dyslipidimea

These are yellowish cholestrol deposits around the eyes . They are potentially harmless and painless but if they grow in size they can cause some discomfort . Anyone can get xanthelasma but this condition is more common in people with a lipid disorder called dyslipidemia resulting in hypercholesterolemia. People with this disorder have too many lipids in their blood stream (hypercholesterolemia is having cholesterol greater than 200mg per deciliter in the blood stream ) Treatement involves surgical excision or use of destruction methods like CO2 ,pulsed dye YAG lasers .
