Diagnosis: Eczema herpeticum and viral conjunctivitis! Eczema herpeticum is a rare and serious problem that can happen when skin that is affected by eczema comes into contact with the herpes virus. It is usually caused by coming in contact with a cold sore (HSV-1). Viral conjunctivitis of course is a conjunctival infection typically caused by adenovirus.
