Fatty acids are components of the majority of lipids . Fatty acids are usually unbranched. But certain fatty acids of plant origin (phytanic acid ) contain several methyl groups as branching points. ❗ Accumulation of phytanic acid in the body results in REFSUM'S DiSEASE .
