History of bradykinin.
▶️ bradykinin was first discovered by three Brazilian physiologists. They discovered the powerful hypotensive effects of bradykinin in animal preparations. Bradykinin was detected in the blood plasma of animals after the addition of venom extracted from the Bothrops jararaca (Brazilian lancehead snake). ________________ ▶️ It's named so because they noticed that the venom slows the contractions of the intestinal smooth muscles when inside the animal. ________________ ▶️Brady means slow, kinin means movement. ________________ 🔶Source: Wikipedia
