Hi, wood's lamp or diagnosed by clinical appearance (scaring alopecia with red base; with/ without scutula)and by potassium hydroxide wet mount of plucked hairs or of hairs and scale obtained by scraping or brushing. Spore size and appearance inside (endothrix) or outside (ectothrix) the hair shaft distinguish organism. For treatment>> oral griseofulvin for 4-6 weeks.

Diagnose by use of KOH pottasiom hydroxide scrash on the lesion the content put on the slide add 70-80% koh then boil for 5-10mins to visualize the fungi. Trxt antifungals
