The pulmonary wedge pressure or (pwp)
The pulmonary wedge pressure or pwp, or cross sectional pressure, is the pressure measured by wedging a pulmonary catheter with an inflated balloon into a small pulmonary arterial branch. It estimates the left aterial pressure.
