Pterygium

Pterygium

Pterygium is a disease characterized by the formation of a pathological fold of the conjunctiva that grows on the cornea. This disease is most characteristic of people living in southern countries, as well as those who spend most of their lives in the open air and are constantly exposed to active chemical stimuli, wind, solar radiation and dust.

treatment is conjuctival autograft when the limbus or cornea is involved, otherwise if limbus and cornea is intact then it will subside by using sunglasses and eyedrops etc
