Burst Appendix
Appendix is an evagination of the cecum (it is called cecum because it is a tube which has an opened end <opened eye> & a closed end <closed eye>😉 . Appendix has a small lumen (here is the problem) due to the presence of lymphatic nodules which is a collection of lymphatic cells, it also has intestinal glands which secrete mucus . When a viral infection occurs in the appendix, the lymphatic nodules will enlarge in size and it will close the small lumen of the appendix but the intestinal gland is still secreting mucus which will cause the distention of Appendix due to the accumulation of mucus and finally this will lead to the BURST OF APPENDIX.😇
