Antibiotics and the "related in no way" viruses

Antibiotics and the "related in no way" viruses

Antibiotics, also known as antibacterials, are medications that destroy or slow down the growth of bacteria. Antibiotics cannot treat viral infections such as cold, flu and most coughs.. Most commonly used types of antibiotics are: Aminoglycosides, Penicillins, Fluoroquinolones, Cephalosporins, Macrolides and Tetracyclines. Using them for the wrong purpose is like we pointing a gun to our own selves.. Neither will the virus die nor will the flu subside.. Instead the person will have to suffer unnecessarily from the side effects of antibiotics too.. Next time someone asks you for antibiotics am sure this picture will help.. 😉

Tamiflu (oseltamivir), Rapivab (peramivir) Relenza (zanamivir) are the most commonly used antivirals among which oseltamivir is the most common one.
