High resolution MR Imaging of the cirrhotic liver at 1.5 Tesla

Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver caused by long-term liver damage. The scar tissue prevents the liver working properly. Cirrhosis can eventually lead to liver failure, where the liver stops working, which can be fatal. Unfortunately, conventional MRI is insensitive in early cirrhosis, and its role is in screening cirrhotic livers for small HCCs. LiverMultiScan (Perspectum Diagnostics patented technology) can assist in the detection of early liver disease and predict the outcomes in patients with chronic liver disease.
