Found the missing fingers!

This patient had 3 of his fingers amputated in a work-related traumatic accident. The photo was taken prior to their replantation, which is the surgical reattachment of a body part, most commonly a finger, hand or arm, that has been completely cut from a person's body.  Fingertip amputation is a challenging injury to manage. From the identification of vessel ends to reanastomosis of the submillimeter vessels, fingertip's highly specialized anatomy requires technical excellence and precisely addressing the anatomic challenges. It is possible to restore the function and survival of the replanted part, with the general operative sequence being the vascular shunt first to minimize ischemia time, bone fixation with or without shortening if needed, extensor tendon repair, artery repair, venous anastomoses, flexor tendon repair, nerve repair, and skin with fasciotomy in some cases to relieve tension or pressure and treat possible acute compartment syndrome.
