For those of you who asked for recovery picture on my previous post about Stevens-Johnson syndrome, here it is! Zachary survived. He came out of his coma with no ill effects, and his body recovered with remarkable speed. It appears that Zachary has suffered no permanent damage from his horrifying ordeal. More info: Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a toxic condition in which cells die and the epidermis, the outer skin layer, pulls away from the dermis, or inner layer. Ulcers and lesions form in the mouth, eyes, genital and anal regions. Conjunctivitis, or eye inflammation, occurs in 30 percent of children affected. SJS is considered a reaction by an immune system gone awry. The reaction can be triggered by viral infections, cancer or medication. The most common trigger is medication. Anyone can develop an immune reaction to a medication at any time. SJS is very rare, but can be triggered by a drug, a headache, a hangnail.
It's amazing! So glad to see him alive and good-looking. I'm asking if this SJS can go back or not? Does he fight all his live against it?
The cause is unclear, but we assume it can be triggered with some certain medications and what is highly recommended is being careful prescribing meds, especially when it comes to kids in order to avoid any serious complications or even causing disease to come back. Not every immune system reacts the same!
Amazing. The body and human spirit are amazing. Hope he gets therapy...bound to have PTSD from ordeal.
Guys is there any opportunity to make group on facebook or telegram to identify students and doctors from world wide and share knowledge more?
