The syndrome mainly occurs in the arm or leg and is characterized by increased pressure within one of the body's compartments which contains muscles and nerves. This patient underwent a traumatic injury, which resulted in acute compartment syndrome due to buildup of high pressure in his arm compartment. This in turn led to reduced blood supply to the muscles and nerves running along. Emergency surgical intervention for relieving the pressure is mandatory in those cases and once the clinical diagnosis of compartment syndrome is made, fasciotomy is done. As the name implies, the procedure includes cutting the fascia to relive all that tension and pressures and restore normal blood circulation. Photo by : @sac419
