Hand laceration

A laceration is a cut through the skin, produced by tearing of soft body tissues. It is possible for a laceration to the hand to injure a nerve, muscle, tendon, fat, and vasculature. This type of injury will cause numbness, loss of feeling, and possibly weakness in the hand, finger, or thumb. As you might guess, nerve and tissue repair along with suturing is mandatory.
