ExplanationC. The MC site in children and young is the Little’s area (Kiesselbach’s plexus) present in the anteroinferior septum just above the vestibule. Four arteries contribute to Kiesselbach’s plexus: i. Septal branch of Sphenopalatine; this is the main artery of Kiesselbach’s plexus hence also known as “artery of epistaxis”. Sphenopalatine is a branch from the maxillary artery which in turn is a branch of external carotid. ii. Septal branch of greater palatine; greater palatine is also a branch of maxillary artery. iii. Septal branch of superior labial (superior labial is a branch of facial artery which is a branch of external carotid) iv. Anterior ethmoidal artery (it is a branch of ophthalmic artery which is a branch of internal carotid).
