Honestly man, you’re just so far away I’d say enjoy where you’re at now and do well in school. Don’t stress learning anything overly medical yet. Enjoy HS and sports or whatever you’re into. Then when the time comes to buckle down, do it. If you want a couple good books about medicine to see if you really want it I’d read “hot lights cold steel” and maybe read “when breath becomes air”. If you need to volunteer find a local clinic and learn to take vitals, but don’t worry much about shadowing etc until college.
Ok thanks but the problem is I’m not really into anything other than medical and jazz materials but I hear what you’re saying. I’ll definitely try the local clinic if I can later
In my country I had no luck finding any which I could attend so else I started assessing my own family reports and studying them
That’s what I’ve been doing and it works pretty well but I want to see if I could kind of expand to like office style maybe not doing the medical work but like an assistant that isn’t medically trained but can do basic work.
Well, I’d highly recommend you find something if you can. Sports/exercise, games, anything. If you get too absorbed in medicine you’ll have a really high risk of burning out later. And you’ll just have no life in undergrad and medical school because you’ll only be studying.. and that’s no way to live.
Ok thanks! Yeah I mean I do some non organized sports and I except use and I definitely don’t want to become to absorbed so I think you’re right about that! Thank you this has been really helpful
I think it’s great that you’re so passionate about the medical field, but ny suggestion, if you know for sure that the medical field is the field you want to go in, start some at home studies and focus on school because right now is what matters. If you don’t do well now because you’re so worried about the future then it won’t matter. In addition to this you will probably have to wait until 16-18 to volunteer at the hospital. With this in mind you are on the right track and don’t give up! It’s going to get so difficult and you will want to quit, but in the end you may be someone’s last home and the feeling is so rewarding!
Ok this is also really helpful and like Evan was saying relating to this is that you don’t want to get too into it and I’ve heard that a lot so I think I will obviously focus on school way more than the future but thank you guys so much it means a lot to me.
