What about those innocent doctors and nurses? Who will give them placement? And who will take care of the shortage of beds which occured after this stupid decision?
If it's against doctors, everybody will jump at the opportunity to clamp down on doctors. And I believe the baby in question was very very premature at about 22 weeks. Viability of a newborn in Indian law is given at 28 weeks. But if it's big corporate hospitals the viability is given at 24 weeks. It is very difficult to take care of such a very premature baby. Please do look into the matter carefully and decide which is wrong and right. It is because of uninformed memes made by lay people like this that has dragged down the reputation of doctors. We are not miracle workers. As one of my teachers, a very senior respected doctor puts it, with a highly educated sector knee jerk reactions like these shouldn't be taken. Yes we don't make up a very large portion of the voters so nobody ever listens to us anyway. I'm not saying max hospital is totally guilt free, but people should look into the matter carefully and also try to think from the doctor's perspective. And if we as doctors start bashing each other, how will we stand against allegations from outsiders???
