A baby born with her heart pumping outside her body has stunned her parents and doctors in India. Tazmina Khatun, 28, gave a natural birth to her daughter in a government-run hospital on Wednesday in a nondescript village in Assam in northeast India. But the new mum was shocked when she realised the girl's heart was beating outside her body. The woman had never sought medical help throughout her gestation period or undergone a sonography due to lack of money and knowledge and was clearly unaware of the child's condition. After the preliminary care, doctors at the hospital referred the newborn to an advanced heart institute in a different city for a life-saving surgery.
