A 5 year old boy went to the medical room in his school with initial swelling in the right eye. The child was given ice cube to reduce the swelling and was sent back to class. After one hour he came back with swelling in both eyes and was advised to go to a hospital. No history of itching, pain, pus, discharge or surgeries. No history of ocular trauma.
Thank you for the answer. But do you think that is possible in a five year old boy
Possible cuz it may also be triggered by certain foods that the kid is allergic to, or bee or wasp sting. Also possible with ibuprofen administartion..
No allergies, stings or drug history..... But food can be a possibility along with extreme hot temperature here in india.đź‘Ť
It could even be helminth. And his pupils seem dilated - could even be intoxication
It could be an allergic reaction that is in the class because when it started to get worse predicting swelling in both eyes, the patient could have gone to the playground and touched something that he would take with him to class, by scratching his eyes this material could be deposited and cause edema
