Choclate brown… have u ever seen a blood of a patient especially a new born which has been reduced by oxidant stress such as sulphonamides nd nitrotes drugs is a classic example of deoxygenated blood

In methemoglobinemia, these oxidative drugs cause hemoglobin to convert into methemoglobin. Methemoglobin is dark brown so it gives the blood the chocolate colour, and it can't carry O2 properly. I had never seen a proper sample of this :D thnx
