Wow, personalized treatment is not only a grand idea, but it is the ideal. Personalized treatment, I think, is the imagined (or ideal) form of patient care. What also needs to be considered, is the target population that is considered for such interpersonal and individuated treatment. Persons of color, lower income individuals, intersex, transgender and gender non-conforming, disabled, cognitive varied people and etc., also have the right to such individual treatment. However, these groups of people (specifically on an individual level) are underrepresented and socially constrained, stifling their access to adequate health care. What can we do to make these experiences more accessible?
