Here is his story: "So I decided to try a trampoline park that opened recently in my city. In retrospect, this was a bad idea, since I'm almost 30 and also clumsy. I was trying to get off a trampoline and landed wrong, resulting in a dislocated ankle. The ambulance arrived quickly and they gave me some really good drugs (ketamine, among others) before they put it back into place (said they needed their two strongest guys). Fortunately, it didn't break through the skin. No major fractures, and the only surgery I might need is some minor arthroscopic surgery to remove some potential bone fragments from the joint. Looking at 6-8 weeks. Could've been a lot worse, but in sum, I can't recommend it." . The typical sequence of events in an ankle dislocation would usually involve an urgent trip to the emergency room for x-rays, and then a physician will βreduceβ the ankle. This means they will set the alignment back to normal. Surgery is often needed. After setting the dislocated ankle back in place there will be a period of immobilization in a cast or boot that lasts several weeks. This is followed by gradual increases in weight bearing, motion, and strength. Credit: marximusprime Have you ever had a sprained ankle? Comment below and tag a friend! FOLLOW us @medicalpedia
So a simple fix of the bone into its normal position will do the job??
