Cell Cycle- Interphase: G1:Cell growth, Synthesis: DNA replication, G2: preparation of Mitosis- PMAT, Prophase: Chromosomes condense and nuclear membranes decomposes, centrioles replicate and travel to opposite poles, Metaphase:Chromosomes line up at metaphase plate and centrioles produce spindle fibres attacking to the centromeres of the chromosomes, Anaphase: Chromosomes are reeled in to opposite sides because of shortening spindle fibres, Telophase: Chromosomes un-condense, nuclear membrane reforms around DNA and cleavage furrow starts to appear early telophase, Late telophase cytokinesis takes place for organelles and cytoplasm. Good technique for memorizing mitosis is the acronym PMAT, P-Preparation, M-Middle, A-Away. Happy Studying ::))
