It also depends on how they were shot, if they put the gun in their mouth the back of the head would basically explode because of the small distance between the back of the throat and the back of the head. Another thing to measure in is the type of gun and bullets being used. The woman in this photo shot herself with a .45. If a person was murdered, depending on the distance, the entry and exit wound may be about the same size.
Well the entrance wound is smaller than the exit, that is if she attempted to place it on her forehead and aimed down. Which I think is what she tried to do if she is hopefully alive still
The explosion from the bullet leaving the gun makes it larger than the than the exit wound.
