Hello, I'm 15 and really into the medical field and want to become a surgeon (mostly neurosurgery) and don't know where to begin. I'm currently taking anatomy at my school but wanting to learn more. I've been thinking about shadowing at a hospital and don't know if I'm allowed to or not. Is there anything anyone would recommend reading, watching, or doing that would help?
Lol I am 16. I graduated early to go on my journey to attain an associates in nursing. I moved from 10th grade straight to college. đ I would love to keep in touch to see how your journey goes!
Hi! Iâm in the same boat as you. Definitely get a volunteering job at a hospital because it really is helping me get a move on.
Hey there! Try watching our videos on Anatomy, wish you all the best! Link in bio.
Do as MANY dual enrollment classes as you can while youâre still in highschool, try to graduate early, focus on your goals and never lose sight of them. Join as many health related clubs you can in college (looks good on resumes and applications) & start volunteering in hospitals now. Atleast do 100 hours a year, make yourself stand out. RESEARCH, get involved with research!! Also, do you associates as a AS (associates in science) & may want to look into your undergraduate for majoring in neurobiology. (ASU has a great program)
Also Pinterest is going to be your bestfriend. There are so many tips and websites you can find on there âcollege hacksâ âmedical school tipsâ etc. also search up on YouTube of âmedical school studentsâ or âmedical school tipsâ and watch the medical students that are currently enrolling in med school. Itâll help you figure out what you need to do
If youâre in the United States then you probably will not be allowed in a hospital until age 18
I am 18 and and very interested in Medicine too! Firstly I would recommend you to stay focused on your school work. Apart from that you can do internships at Hospitals or any others. Personally I follow many pages on Instagram with medical content to stay motivated and up to date đ¤đģđ¤
