Which of the following imaging examination methods is the first choice for bone and joints disease? ( fluoroscopy, plain film , CT , ultrasonography)
The first choice is of course, plain film, then it depends on the findings and the list of differentials, the next step might be CT for assessing bone, or MR to assess soft tissues, cartilages, ligaments and tendons. Ultrasonography is only used for superficial soft tissue problems and in some cases in children.
