Female reproduction here on MEDizzy!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Quick overview! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1. Primary follicles contain oocyte and begin producing the sex hormone estrogen. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 2. Secondary follicles contain secondary oocyte and produce estrogen and progesterone. Antrum is forming.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 3. Graafian (vesicular) follicle develops. It provides for the maturation and release of a fertilizable oocyte. Antrum formed. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 4. Ovulation: the secondary oocyte is released. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 5. Corpus Luteum produces female sex hormones, progesterone, estradiol and estrogen. Its responsbile for establishing and maintaining pregnancy. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 6.
