A 24 year old woman presents at the emergency room with: RBC of 2.86 /Hb 4.4 /Ht 17.8/ MCV 62.2/ MCH 15.4/ MCHC 24.7/ RDW 20.6/ Platelet Count 491/ Ferritin <5 / in the past few weeks she had the symptoms of weakness, fatigue, tinnitus, dizziness, SOB, pain in the neck, abdominal discomfort, leg cramps, headache tension, the blood test interpretation was severe hypochromic microcytic anemia, but she insists that she might have something wrong with the thyroid even the test were ok as result and that it could be something abdominal because of the blood stools and needles feeling in the lower left abdominal side, what do you think it is?
