A man who went to hospital with stomach pain was found to have a surgical clamp inside his belly-from an operation 37 years before The Chinese man has gastric ulcer surgery in 1974 and had frequently suffered stomach pain in subsequent years His comments ' I thought it was my old stomach problem and each time I took stomach medication anti-inflammatory pills to relieve pain' with pain getting worst he went back to hospital and doctor discovered the 10cm long instrument before removing it in a 2 hour operation. According to doctor he was lucky because a part of abdominal wall had wrapped around the clamp from development of post surgical adhesions, prevent it from moving and potentially causing serious internal injury
