Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome

HUS is caused by Shiga toxin-producing E.coli infection (serotype O157:H7) which causes profound endothelial dysfunction. Present with fever, bloody diarrhea, acute kidney injury, thrombocytopenia and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia. Common in children. Treatment is supportive care
