Antidiuretic hormone (ADH)

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH)

ADH also known as vasopressin. It is synthesized in the hypothalamus, stored and secreted by the posterior pituitary. It regulates blood pressure (V1 receptor) and serum osmolality (V2 receptor). ADH decreases serum osmolality and incryease urine osmolality via regulation of aquaporin channel insertion in principal cells of renal collecting duct.
