Repeated episodes of pulsating headache, usually of hemispherical distribution Inability to function during an episode Photophobia and Phonophobia Nausea and vomiting. Poor response to simple analgesics, long lasting (up to 72 hours) if not treated, Commonly starts during teenage years, usually a family history of migraines May be preceded by an "aura" May be complicated by temporary focal neurologic deficits (skin numbness, slurred speech etc)
